This artwork was created during Covid-19 confinement, between March – June 2020.
The only moment in history where almost all the world remained at home, inside. Therefore, all the pieces have been painted in a small size, following the needs of daily self-expression on multiple topics.
Those are painted in pure cotton Arches Paper at 300 gsm (140lb)
Some of them represent how I was feeling, how I was perceiving the future, which people and places I was missing… I could understand many of those meanings way after those were painted. Taking some perspective and putting things in place is when the puzzle get completed and meaningful. This was certainly not an easy period for many, but we remained strong and close – either physically or emotionally – to those we love.
I believe every situation in life, whether easy or difficult, should bring us the strength to change and to adapt so we can continue being valid in the new. Jaap Grolleman said “I have to change to stay the same” and I cannot agree more.
